In the four months since, the software has been learning and analyzing our team’s decisions to refine its output.

The landmark project is possible thanks to major investments from Scale AI and MEA members. We are working with Montréal AI-solution startup Airudi as well as the Port of Montréal for data sharing.

What exactly is it?

Galileo proposes an optimal scenario for workforce deployment that takes into consideration port traffic, the weather, the amount and type of freight. This forecast adheres to collective agreements, port workforce availability and the classifications required.

With this new tool, vessel arrival time can be accurately planned up to 21 days in advance—a major improvement over the current situation, where it is impossible to predict more than 24 hours ahead. This will enhance performance and fluidity at the Port of Montréal.

To date, the AI recommendations have been 98% accurate compared to terminal operator demands. This is very encouraging and is an excellent demonstration of our project partners’ know-how. Moreover, several port authorities and employers’ associations have already shown interest in our revolutionary solution for workforce deployment forecasting.

Stay tuned to find out when Galileo is fully operational.
