Major investments recently announced by the Port of Montr\u00e9al suggest that change is on its way, with port activities slated to be expanded and consolidated in the coming years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In its $335 million five-year investment plan, the Port is focused on renewing and developing its infrastructure as well as accelerating the decarbonization of port activities and promoting the energy transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the Port of Trois-Rivi\u00e8res, investments totalling $300 million are also in the cards\u2014$150 million of which is earmarked to update docks 16 and 17, which have reached end of life, and $150 million to build three docks at Terminal 21. With this additional 640 metres added to the west of current installations, the Port of Trois-Rivi\u00e8res estimates that it will be able to increase its capacity to handle goods by 1.5 million tons per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2022, the Port of Trois-Rivi\u00e8res set a record number of goods handled, an increase of 10% over 2021.
