{"id":1716,"date":"2023-06-12T15:24:16","date_gmt":"2023-06-12T20:24:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mea.ca\/?post_type=newsletter&#038;p=1716"},"modified":"2023-06-12T15:24:31","modified_gmt":"2023-06-12T20:24:31","slug":"a-major-expansion-for-logistec","status":"publish","type":"newsletter","link":"https:\/\/www.mea.ca\/en\/publications\/a-major-expansion-for-logistec\/","title":{"rendered":"A Major Expansion for Logistec"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Maritime service provider Logistec recently announced its acquisition of the Canadian and US marine terminal business of Fednav and its subsidiary Federal Marine Terminals (FMT), a major terminal operator in Canada and the US.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With these 11 additional terminals, Logistec now has 90 terminals in 60 ports in North America. This is a major strategic expansion for the Logistec network, which is gaining a foothold in the Great Lakes with strategic gateways into new markets in the US and Canada for its current and future clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FMT\u2019s addition to the Logistec family will serve to consolidate stevedoring, handling and warehousing services for bulk, containerized, project cargo and general cargo, in addition to added value on-carriage services, inventory management and 24\/7 inland cargo transportation in Canada and the US.
