The MEA and the Port de Trois-Rivières are contributing to a new immersive activity in Trois-Rivières, the result of a three-year partnership with the Musée Boréalis. We’re proud to highlight the importance of marine transportation in a city where the regional economy is heavily dependent on it. The MEA and its members have played a key role in the development of the city of Trois-Rivières.
“Histoire sur l’eau” is a temporary exhibition at the museum that features an electric pontoon excursion for approximately a dozen participants at a time. Participants are treated to an immersive exploration of the history of the Saint-Maurice River, which was a pulp and paper hub in the last century.
The cruise lasts around an hour and explores the infrastructure of former pulp and paper plants, immersing participants in the events that shaped the river and its surroundings. Participants enjoy a pleasant outing, while learning a little more about a formative era for the region where, not too long ago, men and women toiled and thousands of logs converged in this waterway.
