Robert Roy’s journey is anything but linear. His career experience has been as varied as his areas of interest. He got his start as a pole climber and, after several interludes during which he returned to school, he achieved strategic management positions on major international job sites. When he joined the MEA as Vice-President, Information Technologies, Robert’s goal was to modernize the computer systems. He quickly launched several projects to optimize several of the organization’s operational processes. The most recent major project is the development of a Shared Services Centre for port employees.
According to Robert, we have a shared duty to value the work of port employees and meet the needs of workers and our members. Every day, in fair weather and in bad, the MEA keeps the ports moving.
